Oh happy Sunday! I hope you’re having great one. First of all I would like to apologize for not uploading last Sunday. However, I do have an excuse. Because last Sunday I was on an exchanging trip in Germany with my classmates and unfortunately I didn’t prepare a post for that Sunday. Long story short, I’m back on it and I will for sure do a little post about my trip there. Which BTW was really amazing, I learned so much about myself on that trip, like how much I can do and how I react in certain situations. But more about that in a future post…. So for today I thought that I would show you my ‘new room’. Quite recently I got it done and I’m like head over heels about it. So I thought: Why the heck not share it with you guys? Like you might get some inspiration from it right? So here you go, enjoy!

So my room holds this ever so beautiful and huge window. Like just take a moment to appreciate that amazing-ness. But how to style it? Well, it did take me about 6 different boxes, 30 different magazines and let’s just say way tooooo many plants to figure it out. However, I feel like I’m pretty happy about how it’s looking so far (even though I might get bored of it in like a month, but for now I really am enjoying it) Like it’s great looking and practical, because of the wooden boxes. The style I was going for was basically just something that wouldn’t steal all the attention from the actual window. So what I’ve done is I’ve pick some rather ‘light’ things. What I mean by this is that glass, wood and plants are all light looking things (do you get what I mean…?)

So for my ‘new room’ my stepfather ever so kindly constructed and builded this A-mazing bed. Like just look at it. I honestly couldn’t be happier. Just like my window I wanted something that was of light looking material. So I went on pinterest (which as you may or may not know is almost like my religion, ahahaha) and I searched for ‘light looking beds’. And then a bed in this material popped up and my reaction was like: “Yup, that’s exactly what I want my bed to be made of”. Then I drew some sketches of how I wanted it to look and BAM the bed was in its making.
For the bedding I again wanted something subtle but NOT boring. So I did my research and found out that my style was like a mix of bohemian, Parisian, Scandinavian and Japanese. Not quite sure that that’s the correct word, but this is what it’s looking like. White bed sheets, yellow-ish pillows and this stunning pillow with tassels. And, believe it or not, but because of the nice pillows, I’m actually looking forward to making my bed in the morning.

So for my desk I wanted just like a long plank (yes, it doesn’t really sound that exotic but I’m so obsessed with it) We just painted a wooden plank and when bought these amazing draws from IKEA, believe it or not. Then I made these little stickers so I actually have some sort of insight in what’s going on inside my draws. Because of the white colour of the plank and draws, I wanted something warm to add to it. What I mean by this is, that if everything in you room is white, you probably are going to feel like some warmth is missing. So how to fix that? Well, as a Dane I obviously have to love anything teak, which TBH I actually almost do. So the fact that I have a teak chair is absolutely no problem to me, in fact I LOVE this chair. Another thing that can add warmth to you room is a rug (unless it’s like chalk-white) So again, I did my research and found this IKEA rug. Like before, you probably wouldn’t expect IKEA to do SUCH amazing rugs, but they for sure do.

If you’ve peeked a little into the home styles of 2017, you will know that grids for your walls was a HUGE trend. And it is very understandable why. I love the fact that I can hang little memories or clothing labels on the wall. I truly think that it adds a lot of personality to a room. Because with out pictures or memories of something, the room could just as well be someone else’s right? The little drawings in the middel are all made by me (not for sale or anything though, not yet….) But like the pictures it adds some personality to a room. The beautiful girl on the wooden board is… I have no idea. I think my mum got it as like a test print, but I thought it was WAY TOO good to just rid of. So I got to keep it, which I’m ever so happy about, because I don’t think that there’s a lot of girls and boys around the world with the same photo on their walls.

I would consider myself like a bit of a weird collector. Like I love small-weird-looking-things. Just to specify: I have two old Chanel perfumes, two little china animal (which I’ve got NO clue where’s from), old jewellery boxes and a TON of books (which I do know where’s from). As I’ve said before for me it’s all about the person touch, like I don’t think that anyone one the planet have styled their desk like me. Which I find really amazing, because it makes me feel like I’m unique in some way.
